Dr. Steve Birchard is a board-certified veterinary surgeon with over three decades of experience in clinical practice and academic medicine. A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, he completed his surgical residency at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Birchard has served on faculty at both the University of Illinois and Ohio State University, where he trained countless residents and contributed extensively to the veterinary surgical literature. He is co-editor of the Saunders Manual of Small Animal Practice and a sought-after national speaker known for making complex surgical topics practical and engaging.
