Insights Personality and Leadership – Dr. Heidi Hulon
August 23, 2018
10:00am-4:00pm

Are you facing stress, empathy or burn-out?  How can you continue to burn bright and not burn out? Insights will give you a deeper understanding of yourself and how you communicate with and react to others and situations.   Once you understand yourself, you can better adapt to and relate to others.

This program will also cover the additional topics of:

Blind spots – areas of your personality that you may not be aware of but others are.  They may inhibit you from successfully interacting with others.  This will help you recognize and address them.

Handling Stress – we all have stress in our lives but some people seem to handle it better than others.  This help you address what triggers stress in your life and how to deal with it more effectively.

Insightful Goals – How to develop your goals so you can bring your vision/goal into reality and how to balance goals in all aspects of your life.

This session is generously sponsored by Elanco Animal Health.

One of your most valuable professional assets is your reputation and your ability to practice.  This session will focus on protecting these assets by better understanding professional liability and regulatory complaints in an ever changing society.  Veterinary medicine remains one of the most highly regarded professions. Yet, due to constant changes in technology and social media, the practice environment continues to evolve and subsequently presents many unique challenges for veterinarians today.  During the session, tips on how to avoid malpractice claims and board complaints will be shared and information will be provided on the appropriate types of coverage needed to assure broad protection against the fastest growing type of civil lawsuits – employment related lawsuits, which can be an HR pain point for many practices.  Actual closed claims will be utilized as examples in an interactive format to illustrate the importance of implementing strong risk management tools thereby helping to lower the incidence of claims and emPOWERing you, the veterinarian!

This session is generously sponsored by AVMA Professional Liability Trust and will be presented by Dr. Cynthia Mackenzie.
